PACKAGING

Shape is positioning: it's a source of differentiation.

Positioning

The design of form

Provide technical functions (containment, protection, ergonomics), identify the brand and nature of the product.

Perception

Colours

Colours have connotations and their symbolism varies according to culture and product family.

Process

Choice of material

Technical, aesthetic, practical, ecological, economic: the choice of material is highly strategic.

Communication

CHOCOLAT NOIR agency

A creative design studio combining art and technology

The three pillars of packaging are as follows:

Functionality

Packaging must first and foremost fulfil a practical function. It must protect the product from damage during transport, storage and handling. It must also be easy for the consumer to use. Packaging functionality includes elements such as security, ease of opening and closing, preservation of product freshness, etc.

Communication

Packaging serves as a means of communication between the brand and the consumer. It must convey essential information about the product, such as the brand name, product characteristics, instructions for use, ingredients, and sometimes branding elements such as the logo, colours and design. The packaging must be designed to attract the consumer's attention and generate interest in the product.

Aesthetics and appeal

Packaging must be aesthetically pleasing and attractive to the consumer. It plays an essential role in product and brand perception. Attractive packaging design can influence the decision to buy by eliciting a positive emotional response. The aesthetics of the packaging must be in harmony with the brand's strategy and the image that the company wishes to project.

Methodology

Packaging: creative and strategic stages

STEP 1.

Asking the right questions!

We see packaging as a means of communicationa tool, a response to a problem. Upstream we need to define our strategy What is our market? Who are the players? How do we want to position ourselves? Who are we going to reach? Where? These are all questions that form the basis of communication strategy and must seal our creative intentions.

STEP 2.

Create, test and produce.

After strategy, the action! It is now time to implement the strategy adopted and to launch your newly packaged product. Just before that, we will agree to pre-tests and organise the final delivery of products to distributors.

STEP 3.

Monitor, analyse and react.

Thanks to current statistical and analytical toolswe are able to clearly quantify and qualify the purchasing process. Here again, there are many questions to ask: why isn't my product appealing? Can I improve? Who is buying? How are my customers using it?

Collaboration

Let's talk about it!
