Open Project
CIAM: THE SCHOOL OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC

AN INCREDIBLE PROGRAMME!

At a time when the professional music sector is seeing some of its foundations called into question (status of amateur and professional artists, authors' and performers' rights, economic balance and support, qualifications, etc.), and when we are probably heading for an overhaul of its overall operation, it is now clear that becoming a professional musician is more than ever the result of determination and organisation.
Pugnacity, hard work, an open mind, efficiency, rigour, good interpersonal skills, autonomy, dynamism and responsiveness are just some of the skills that need to be stimulated to achieve your goals. But there are still musicians today who continue to demonstrate through their careers and their artistic achievements that anything is still possible. You can meet them during these open days at CIAM to understand their careers and their methods, to exchange ideas and, above all, because that's what it's all about: Playing and creating.

  • 2pm - 5pm: Open Day: Visit the premises, meet the permanent teaching staff and some of the department heads, present the new courses, get in touch with the administrative team, etc.
  • 6.45pm - 11.00pm: Apérociam (concerts)
  • 7.00 pm - 7.30 pm: PRF 2005 (Varied Style - CIAM students' workshop)
  • 7.45pm - 8.15pm: Orion SIA (Rock - Finalist in the 2005 CIAM springboard)
  • 8.30pm - 9pm: Laya (Jazz - winner of the 2005 CIAM springboard)
  • 9.15pm - 10.00pm: Christophe Maroye (Jazz - Bordeaux)
  • after 10pm: PLUG'IN (Metal - Bordeaux)

Apérociams after the open day

The aim of these mini-concerts is to encourage and support collective practice under professional technical conditions. Each week, these free weekly concerts programme 4 workshops or
different groups. It's a way of getting to know the audience and the Bordeaux contemporary music scene.
